Analysis of a survey of senior high school students revealed significant differences between males and females, and between athletes and non-athletes in their attitudes and behaviors toward alcohol and drinking behavior. (MJB)

Interviewed 20 female and 44 male bartenders. Findings indicated that both male and female bartenders are reliable reporters of their own and their customers' drinking behaviors and are aware of causes of problem drinking. Both male and female bartenders were positive about taking courses in alcoholism. (Author/RC)

Engs, Ruth C.; Hanson, David J. – Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, 1985
A national survey of 6115 college students indicated that 81.9 percent were drinking at least once a year and 20.2 perent were heavy drinkers. Results are presented for demographic and drinking characteristics, and comparisons with a similar 1974 study are given. (Author/BL)

Huang, Allen M. – Journal of Alcohol and Drug Education, 1981
Investigated the extent of alcohol consumption among the educable mentally-retarded (EMR) as compared to their nonretarded peers, and identified social and demographic variables which relate to drinking behavior. Findings revealed that there was a more prevalent alcohol use among the nonretarded than the EMR students. (Author)
