Kohli, Nidhi; Koran, Jennifer; Henn, Lisa – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2015
There are well-defined theoretical differences between the classical test theory (CTT) and item response theory (IRT) frameworks. It is understood that in the CTT framework, person and item statistics are test- and sample-dependent. This is not the perception with IRT. For this reason, the IRT framework is considered to be theoretically superior…

Downing, Steven M.; Mehrens, William A. – 1978
Four criterion-referenced reliability coefficicents were compared to the Kuder-Richardson estimates and to each other. The Kuder-Richardson formulas 20 and 21, the Livingston, the Subkoviak and two Huynh coefficients were computed for a random sample of 33 criterion-referenced tests. The Subkoviak coefficient yielded the highest mean value;…

Thompson, Bruce; Dennings, Bruce – 1993
Q-technique factor analysis identifies clusters or factors of people, rather than of variables, and has proven very popular, especially with regard to testing typology theories. The present study investigated the utility of three different protocols for obtaining data for Q-technique studies. These three protocols were: (1) a conventional ipsative…

O'Grady, Kevin E.; Medoff, Deborah R. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
A procedure for evaluating a variety of rater reliability models is presented. A multivariate linear model is used to describe and assess a set of ratings. Parameters are represented in terms of a factor analytic model, and maximum likelihood methods test the model parameters. Illustrative examples are presented. (SLD)
