A practice-plus-verbal feedback teaching strategy (active condition) was compared to a strategy using modeled verbal response (passive condition). Focused on the program evaluation activities of high school counselors. Data obtained indicated school counselors evaluated about 40 percent of guidance program activities included in a questionnaire, but only 19 percent were formally evaluated. Findings from study one indicate no differences in mode of presentation when counseling students were given a written standard model, written serial model, or videotape model of how to ask tacting questions. A study to test the hypothesis that self-instructional programs in nutrition and dentistry are as effective a teaching method as traditional lectures is discussed.
