Factor analysis was used to measure the equivalence of the personality constructs measures by four different rationally devised inventories. The tests were administered to high school and college student samples. Twelve dimensions were found to be common to two or more inventories and consistent across the two samples. (Author/MV)

The Bem Sex-Role Inventory and Heilbrun Masculinity and Femininity Scales were compared. Correlations between the masculine and feminine scales of both instruments were significant for males but not for females. Misclassification into sex role categories occurred primarily in those categories in which personality characteristics overlap. (MH)

Separate factor analyses of the results of the Rotter Internal External Locus of Control Scale administered to separate Anglo American and Chicano groups indicated cross-sample equivalence on two of the five factors. Implications for investigations of the cultural differences between Anglos and Chicanos are briefly discussed. (Author/CTM)
