This study investigated the relationship between information security training and awareness and employees' compliance with information security policy in the U.S. retail industry. Using a quantitative non-experimental research design, this study examined and quantified the significance of the relationship between information security training and awareness and employees' compliance with information security policy in the U.S. retail industry. The study was necessary in the face of the growing rate of cybersecurity attacks and data breaches in the global retail sector, particularly in the United States. Existing literature identified employees' lack of knowledge of their information security roles and responsibilities as a reason for the prevalent lack of information security policy compliance and the rising rate of security breaches. Information security awareness training has also been identified to inform employees of their roles and responsibilities in achieving an effective program. This study used the theory of planned behavior (TPB) and the Human Aspects of Information Security Questionnaire (HAIS-Q) to form the theoretical framework and measurement instrument. After identifying the target population as retail industry employees in the United States, the SurveyMonkey tool was used to recruit the participants for the research data. Quantitative data analysis suggested a significant positive correlation between information security awareness training and employee behavior toward information security policy compliance.
