Communique, v53 n8 p28-31 2025
School psychologists can promote inclusion and support students with autism and their caregivers using effective consultation and collaboration practices. This article reviews some themes from recent articles in a special issue of "Journal of Educational and Behavioral Consultation" entitled, "Consultation and Collaboration to Support Meaningful and Socially Valid Outcomes for Autistic People." The authors offer practices and feasible first steps that may help school psychologists better understand the perspectives and experiences of students with autism and ensure those students receive a quality education and feel supported within their communities.
