This article describes the use of activity counseling with borderline dropout high school students. The activity counseling consisted of urban encounters followed by group sessions in which students exchanged stories, opinions and feelings. These students have demonstrated improvement in self-concept, credit earning, and productivity. (SJL)

At one continuation high school, counselors have established a family counseling service for the most needy students and their families. The program aims to help students and their families develop the ability to meet their basic emotional, social, economic, and educational career needs. (Author)
