A large-scale, nationwide evaluation of cocorrections was carried out in which a wide range of data were collected over a four-month period. Preliminary analyses show that, although there appears to be a decrement with increasing size, the cocorrectional environment seems to be more facilitative of growth than the single-sex institutions. Like universities, the correctional programs that produce the most successful graduates are those with the most stringent entrance requirements. Proportional samples of 113 residents (68 successes and 45 failures) were randomly selected from 1,361 residents (838 successes and 523 failures) who entered state community corrections centers in Michigan.
