Hasson, Natalie; Dodd, Barbara; Botting, Nicola – International Journal of Language & Communication Disorders, 2012
Background: Sentence construction and syntactic organization are known to be poor in children with specific language impairments (SLI), but little is known about the way in which children with SLI approach language tasks, and static standardized tests contribute little to the differentiation of skills within the population of children with…

Hamel, Ronald; Schmittmann, Verena D. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2006
The Raven Advanced Progressive Matrices Test (APM) is a well-known measure of higher order general mental ability. The time to administer the test, 40 to 60 minutes, is sometimes regarded as a drawback. To meet efficiency needs, the APM can be administered as a 30-or 40-minute timed test, or one of two developed short versions could be used. In…

Rock, Daniel L.; Nolen, Patricia A. – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1982
Children aged 7 to 14 years were administered a computerized version of the Raven's Coloured Progressive Matrices test. Computer and traditional version performance was found to be similar in terms of total mean score, correlation with the WISC-R, Raven's subscale intercorrelations, and Raven's total mean score composition. Carver, Ronald P. – Intelligence, 1990
The degree to which reading ability and intelligence, as measured by the Raven Progressive Matrices Test, were related was studied for 486 students in grades 2 through 12 in a small town, rural school system.
