The validity of the Verbal IQ as a short form of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) was investigated using the criteria proposed by Resnick and Entin. The scales of the Self-Directed Search (SDS) were correlated with the scales of the Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) for a sample of 192 high school girls. The concurrent validity of the KIT was evaluated by correlating it with other tests of intellectual, perceptual, social, linguistic and psycholinguistic functioning, using a sample of 106 retardates.
