Teachers, counselors, guidance directors, counselor educators, and others were surveyed to determine the prevailing attitude toward prior school experience for counselor certification. The teacher and counselor groups supported the idea that some experience was desirable, but only the counselor group endorsed the three-year requirement. (Author)
