A Comparative Analysis of Standards and State Practices: Jurisdiction-Status Offenses. Volume Five of Nine.
The Task Force to Develop Standards and Goals for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention was initiated in the Spring of 1975 by the Law Enforcement Assistance Administration (LEAA) of the U.S. Department of Justice. The efforts of this task force resulted in nine reports, each one dealing with one aspect of the Juvenile Justice System. This particular volume examines the scope of juvenile or family court jurisdiction over conduct by juveniles which would not constitute a crime if committed by an adult (status offenses). Specific areas for discussion include truancy and disobedience. (Author/FC)
