A new faculty development program at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh is dependent on a new calendar year combining a traditional semester system with elements of the four-one-four and modular calendar approaches to allow for faculty research, curriculum development, a faculty college, and university institutes. Colleges and universities must become aware of the growing number of students who are mothers, considering programs and policies enabling them to combine and cope with the demands of academics, home, and work.
