The Program Development Center was formed to establish collaborative relationship between Teachers' College Physical Education Program (Columbia University, New York) and physical education staff of several school districts. To improve school physical education programs, several projects were undertaken, including: (1) a high school elective program; (2) a resource library; (3) high school intramurals; and (4) experimental fitness units.
