Logically consistent hypothesis-testing for factorial analysis of variance designs is proposed in the context of a hierarchical model. To examine the ability of the correction factor epsilon to counteract statistical bias in univariate analysis, an analysis of variance (adjusted by epsilon) and a multivariate analysis of variance were performed on the same data.
