Analysis of the first- and fifth-week clerkship activities of six doctoral pharmacy students focused on student-instructor contact time and the significance of student contributions to patient care. Comparisons for Minnesota's class of 1977 supported the hypothesis that clinical pharmacy students become more receptive to pharmacy administrations skills and services as they gain clinical experience, especially in consultation services. The College of Medicine, University of Kentucky, engaged in an innovative, intense approach to clerkship curriculum development based on the nominal group process.
