The Training of Adult Middle-Level Personnel.
Gretler, Armin
This report examines the lack of middle-level personnel in developing countries and describes the activities and the categories of manpower that belong at the intermediate level. Middle-level personnel are defined primarily according to occupational function--inspection or checking, supervision and organization, highly skilled technical activity--and secondarily according to educational level, secondary education or equivalent training. The kind of training involved at this level and a number of training programs in different countries and regions are discussed. Statistical information is provided, and the laws and regulations relating to status and training requirements are reviewed. This study is intended as a source book for research workers, adult educationists, administrators and planners in national and international contexts, as well as for those specialists concerned with projects for economic development and social integration.
