Designed as a companion volume to a K-6 curriculum, this collection of career education and guidance activities corresponds to fifty units to be taught by elementary school teachers. Example career education unit topics include these: about myself; about my family; leisure time; basic needs of man; cities; science; and crafts. For each unit, various activities, suggested speakers, and field trips are listed. Included with some units are suggested kits, games, films, and media materials (with availability information). The appendix includes the following: thirty-two guidance activities (e.g., what decisions do we make; self-concept validation; me and my goals); eight additional units including American Indian games, a real estate unit, and a toy truck factory unit; and an annotated media bibliography with availability information.
