A questionnaire given to parents, teachers, and principals of middle-school students shows general consistency among the three groups in ranking student behavior problems--except on student use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, which is ranked high by parents but low by school authorities. (JW)

A described intervention evaluates the effect of both a psychology course and the active service component of tutoring upon alienated underachieving adolescents and the elementary school pupils who receive their services. Students with school problems responded to questions related to their school performances, attitudes, and behavior. Their parents and teachers responded to comparable questions. The student reports were consistently more positive than those of their parents, and the parents were consistently more positive than the students' teachers. (Author/RD)
