A learning disability index (LDI) for the assessment of intellectual deficits on the K-ABC is described. The population parameters of this index allows for assessment of the abnormality of the LDI in the individual case, as well as for evaluation of statistical significance of any change in the LDI from test to retest. This study evaluates the reliability of profile analysis for assessing differential abilities on the McCarthy Scales for Children's Abilities (MSCA). Subjects were enrolled in private schools. Results indicated 70.9 percent of the sample showed profile variability not reasonably accounted for as real fluctuations in measurable abilities. (Author)

Compared Kuder-Richardson Formula 20 and coefficient alpha (by blocks) reliability estimates for a reading comprehension test.
