Jennrich, Robert I. – Psychometrika, 2004
Component loss functions (CLFs) are used to generalize the quartimax criterion for orthogonal rotation in factor analysis. These replace the fourth powers of the factor loadings by an arbitrary function of the second powers. Criteria of this form were introduced by a number of authors, primarily Katz and Rohlf (1974) and Rozeboom (1991), but there…

Helmes, Edward – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1989
Objective criteria for evaluating the Eysenck Personality Inventory's internal structure are discussed. An approach based on targeted rotations and the test's scoring key is proposed as a means of providing common criteria. Data from earlier structure and test results for 195 undergraduates support the utility of 3 criteria developed. (SLD)

Packard, Richard D.; Dereshiwsky, Mary I. – 1992
In 1985, Arizona initiated a 5-year pilot test of the Career Ladder Teacher Incentive and Development Program. The program provided alternate avenues for teachers to advance other than by accumulating years of experience and college credits. Data were collected annually through the Career Ladder Perception Assessment Scale Survey, which evaluated…

Bejar, Isaac I. – 1985
The feasibility of reducing scoring costs for the Test of Spoken English (TSE) by using one rater was investigated. Currently, two raters are used. It was found that, because of the possibility of different standards used by potential raters, it does not appear feasible to use a single rater as the sole determiner of speaking proficiency under the…

Carlson, Sybil B.; And Others – 1985
Four writing samples were obtained from 638 foreign college applicants who represented three major foreign language groups (Arabic, Chinese, and Spanish), and from 60 native English speakers. All four were scored holistically, two were also scored for sentence-level and discourse-level skills, and some were scored by the Writer's Workbench…
