David L. Sibley
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology
This study examined the perspectives of accreditation liaison officers, institutional accreditor peer-reviewers, and chief library officer perspectives on the role that the academic librarian, academic library, and information literacy should play in institutional accreditation. The study was framed using a conceptual model based on New Librarianship and Critical Constructivism. The study relied on a basic qualitative methodology as a cornerstone of its research design. Data was collected via semi-structured interviews with ten participants recruited through snowball sampling. The results of the study highlighted that among the participants, the academic librarian, library, and information literacy were important components of the institutional accreditation process.
