Peer reviewedFerrando, Pere J.; Lorenzo-Seva, Urbano – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1999
Describes the implementation of a standard Pearson chi-square statistic to test the null hypothesis of bivariate normality for latent variables in the Type I censored model. Assesses the behavior of the statistic through simulation and illustrates the statistic through an empirical example. Discusses limitations of the test. (Author/SLD)

Klein, Andreas G.; Muthen, Bengt O. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 2007
In this article, a nonlinear structural equation model is introduced and a quasi-maximum likelihood method for simultaneous estimation and testing of multiple nonlinear effects is developed. The focus of the new methodology lies on efficiency, robustness, and computational practicability. Monte-Carlo studies indicate that the method is highly…

Peer reviewedKaplan, David – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1990
A strategy for evaluating/modifying covariance structure models (CSMs) is presented. The approach uses recent developments in estimation under nonstandard conditions and unified asymptotic theory related to hypothesis testing, and it determines the extent of sample size sensitivity and specification error effects by relying on existing statistical…

Peer reviewedByrne, Barbara M. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
The factorial validity of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the equivalence of factorial measurements and structure across groups were studied for 163 intermediate-grade teachers, 162 secondary school teachers, and 218 university teachers in Canada. Reasons why the MBI may not be appropriate for university educators are discussed. (SLD)
