Functional Job Analysis: How to Standardize Task Statements. Methods for Manpower Analysis No. 9.
Fine, Sidney A.; And Others
The manual attempts to give definitive, illustrative guidelines for standardizing task statements according to the principles and techniques of Functional Job Analysis (FJA). It is therefore intended for use by persons trained and competent in FJA task analysis. Section 2 briefly reviews some of the concepts and assumptions which are involved in the formulation of task statements and some of the inferences made from them. It also outlines a procedure for standardizing task statements through a group editing process. Section 3 explains in detail how to test the reliability and validity of task statements by using the Checklist for Task Analysis. Section 4 discusses a bilingual task. (Author)
