The impact of the Employment Action Pilot Project on employable immigrants on welfare in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada), was studied with 24 immigrant clients, 15 single-parent female immigrants, and over 300 comparisons. The intensive case management service provided by a mental health consumer team of case managers was compared to services of nonconsumer case managers. Results from 91 clients with serious mental illness found significant differences in outcomes after a year only in the areas of patient satisfaction and contact with family. (SLD)

The introduction of school-based evaluation as part of a national educational evaluation scheme in Norway was studied through observation, field notes, interviews, and questionnaires in a lower secondary school with a staff of around 50. Findings suggest that school-based evaluation is being implemented with positive teacher attitudes. (SLD)
