Peer reviewedKrushat, W. Mark; Molnar, John I. – Evaluation Practice, 1993
After a mailed questionnaire and two follow-ups, hard-core survey nonrespondents were contacted to ask why they had not responded and what they would have answered had they responded. Results from 28 subjects indicate that efforts to pursue nonrespondents may be unnecessary, because bias resulting from nonresponse appeared minimal. (SLD)

Peer reviewedBarley, Zoe A.; Jenness, Mark – Evaluation Practice, 1993
An approach to evaluation initiated by the Kellogg Foundation called cluster evaluation (not to be confused with cluster sampling) is described. Cluster evaluation provides a skilled, credible evaluator to work with a cluster of projects to assure that useful and defensible information is obtained for program evaluation. (SLD)

Peer reviewedHarris, Deborah J.; Crouse, Jill D. – Applied Measurement in Education, 1993
Criteria used in the equating process proposed in the literature are reviewed. The discussion begins by examining how equating is defined. The controversy over the best criterion, the utility of some, and whether a criterion is needed at all means that much work needs to be done in this area. (SLD)

Welsh, Wayne N.; Zajac, Gary – Crime & Delinquency, 2004
Despite a growing realization that unmeasured programmatic differences influence prison-based drug treatment effectiveness, few attempts to systematically measure such differences have been made.
