This paper discusses mediation of the crowding experience in architectural interiors by three environmental variables: setting orientation, room color, and visual complexity of the interior. Data indicated interior design does influence space perception and crowding thresholds. (RH)

Using formal and informal interviews and systematic and casual observations, children's play facilities in seven multifamily housing developments for moderate and low income families were evaluated. Results of the evaluation for both children and adults are reported. (RH)

This study examined personalization of college dormitory rooms. Results of the study indicated that most people decorated early in the quarter, decorating increased over time, and students differentially personalized their rooms. (RH)

Multidimensional scaling configurations were obtained for the same set of 11 stimuli using data from two different judgmental tasks completed by the same group of subjects. The procedure was felt to be a way of obtaining useful information regarding environmental perception. (RH)
