Three approaches to the prediction of juvenile recidivism--factor analysis, stepwise multiple regression, and stepwise discriminant analysis--are contrasted. The California Entry Level Test (ELT) means are used with demographic variables to predict differences among California schools and districts on subsequent reading achievement tests.
