Pisanti, Renato; Soraci, Paolo; Schwarzer, Ralf – Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, 2023
The present study aimed to adapt the Teacher Self-Efficacy Scale (TSES) developed by Schwarzer et al. (1999) into Italian and to test its validity and reliability. In a group of teachers (N = 683; 83% female), the factor structure (Confirmatory Factor Analyses), construct validity (latent relations with burnout variables), measurement invariance…

Gaudreault, Karen Lux; Richards, K. Andrew R.; Mays Woods, Amelia – Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science, 2017
Qualitative research conducted through occupational socialization theory has documented that physical educators feel marginalized and isolated in schools. We sought to propose and provide initial evidence of validity and reliability for the Physical Education Marginalization and Isolation Survey (PE-MAIS). Physical educators (n = 420) completed an…

Zhang, Xiaozhou; Tze, Virginia M. C.; Buhr, Erin; Klassen, Robert M.; Daniels, Lia M. – Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, 2016
The current study provided evidence for the factor structure of the Academic Expectation Stress Inventory (AESI) in a sample of 213 Mainland Chinese and 184 South Korean high school students. We examined cross-national invariance of the AESI using multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis across two Asian cultural samples. Results suggested a…

Powers, Stephen; Gose, Kenneth F. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1986
The Maslach Burnout Inventory was administered to 72 upper-level and graduate students. Item-responses were intercorrelated and subjected to factor analyses. Support was obtained for the three hypothesized factors: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment. (Author/GDC)

Byrne, Barbara M. – Multivariate Behavioral Research, 1991
The factorial validity of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the equivalence of factorial measurements and structure across groups were studied for 163 intermediate-grade teachers, 162 secondary school teachers, and 218 university teachers in Canada. Reasons why the MBI may not be appropriate for university educators are discussed. (SLD)
