Evaluated the effectiveness of beliefs- and skills-focused approaches to career counseling for 40 women who were dissatisfied with their current employment status. Workshops focused on career assertiveness, beliefs, a combination, or a nondirective approach. Results tended to support the value of both the beliefs and skills groups. (JAC)

Many women have undergone assertive training to prepare themselves for the demands of a professional career or independent life style.
