A four-year follow-up study of underachieving college freshmen measured changes in the self-concept of those still in college and those who had dropped out. Significant differences generally favored college seniors. Findings also indicate that dropping out of college may be a positive experience. (Author)

Compared college experiences, adult accomplishment, and employment history of 281 former student government participants and 203 nonparticipants. Results revealed no unique long-term effects from student government participation. However, student activity in general was related to job satisfaction and well-being. (JAC)

All of the 91 C(Communication)-group participants over a three-year period at Montgomery County Community College were asked to complete a follow-up questionnaire about their group experiences. The results from 68 individuals indicated a positive reaction to the groups with respondents especially valuing the group atmosphere. (Author)

Explored the relationship of time of withdrawal to students' academic enrollment and performance using a follow-up procedure with 469 undergraduates. Students withdrawing late had lower grade point averages, were more often on academic probation, more often withdrew because of academic difficulties, and had more previous withdrawals. (Author/MCF)

Behavioral and subjective report measures indicated that some form of undecidedness, tentativeness, or uncertainty about choice of major existed in at least three out of four college freshmen.
