Residential facilities for the mentally retarded surveyed in a 1977 national study were recontacted in a 1982 replication. Among facilities surveyed in 1977, 61.6% were still open at the same address in 1982. Stability rates varied considerably among states, program models, and sizes of facilities. (Author/CL)
