Describes a survey of 716 faculty members and deans of library schools with accredited master's programs conducted to determine their attitudes toward the role of continuing professional education activities. Results indicate positive attitudes but disagreement on suitable formats. (BK)

Describes a nationwide survey of library school students, faculty, and directors of large public libraries which asked them to rank 18 values in order of personal importance. Results showing generally similar value orientations but with several significant specific differences are discussed. References are included. (Author/BK)

Kilpela, Raymond – Journal of Education for Librarianship, 1982
Results of study determining trend in percentage of doctorates held by faculties of accredited library school programs during 1960 and 1978 show that overall percentage increased from 32.1 to 65.9 percent, with women filling majority of positions in 1960 and men constituting majority in 1978-79.
