Numerous countries, including Indonesia, have integrated their cultural heritage into various aspects of society, notably in the realm of traditional textiles. With its diverse cultural landscape, Indonesia showcases detailed and comprehensive characteristics in its traditional fabrics, particularly the South Sumatra Songket. Popular cultural products like batik often receive global attention, which may overshadow or cause other equally valuable traditions to be forgotten. Studying the South Sumatera Songket is paramount because its creation process, rooted in intricate woven techniques, contrasts starkly with the painting-based method prevalent in batik. We are still looking for woven-based techniques that have been explored as deeply as batik in the context of mathematics learning. Therefore, this study aims to explore the mathematical elements in the Songket, with a specific focus on the geometry concept. We used ethnography to explore it through literature study, documentation, and field notes. The findings identify intriguing elements, characteristics, and patterns in the Songket, which serve as a foundation for learning about geometry. Moreover, the study highlights how the values and philosophy embedded in the Songket culture can significantly contribute to fostering good character and behaviour in students.
