Kortering, Larry; Braziel, Patricia M. – Journal of At-Risk Issues, 2008
Youths with disabilities are at risk of failing to complete high school and face considerable uncertainty as they attempt to transition toward a productive adulthood. One potential tool to help more of these youths to stay in school and provide them with information as to suitable post-school careers is the use of vocational assessments. This…

Evaluated the Occu-Sort, and the Self-Directed Search, focusing on six areas of interest to school counselors, e.g., proportion of nontraditional occupations suggested and later considered, number suggested and later considered, understanding and recall of the letter codes, and reliability of the self-scored occupational code for the O-S. (PAS)

Feehan, Patrick F.; Johnston, Joseph A. – Journal of Career Assessment, 1999
High school students (n=237) completed the Self-Directed Search (SDS) and Task Specific Occupational Self-Efficacy Scale. A significant relationship between responses to the two instruments supports the validity of the SDS in predicting career self-efficacy. (SK)

Tuck, Bryan F.; Keeling, Brian – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1980
Holland's Self-Directed Search was administered to male and female high school students attending state schools in New Zealand.
