Hill, Robert W.; Zrull, Mark C.; McIntire, Karen – Assessment, 1998
Findings from 214 pairs of undergraduates support the validity of the Inventory of Interpersonal Problems-Circumplex (L. Alden, J. Wiggins, and A. Pincus, 1990) and describe discrepancies in self- versus peer-reported interpersonal problems. Results also describe differences in the general interpersonal distress factor accounted for by ipsatizing…

Bornstein, Robert F. – Assessment, 1997
Eighty undergraduates completed the Interpersonal Dependency Inventory (IDI) twice, with an 84-week interval between administrations. Retest reliability for the whole scale and subscales were similar to those of studies using shorter test-retest intervals. Implications of results for the construct validity of the IDI are discussed. Jackson, Douglas N.; Fraboni, Maryann; Helmes, Edward – Assessment, 1997
The content scales of the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2), designed to assess substantive dimensions of psychopathology, were evaluated through responses of 221 undergraduates. Results indicate that the convergent and discriminant validity of MMPI-2 content scales are compromised by substantial confounding general variance.…

Bagby, R. Michael; Pajouhandeh, Parnian – Assessment, 1997
The ability of the "fake good" indicators on the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire-4 (PDQ-4) (S. Hyler, 1994) for "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" Axis II disorders was studied with 99 college students. Overall classification rates of the validity scales of the PDQ-4 were too low for clinical use. (SLD)

Harlan, Elena; Clark, Lee Anna – Assessment, 1999
Reports the development of a paragraph-descriptor short form of the Schedule for Nonadaptive and Adaptive Personality (SNAP); (L. Clark, 1993) with self- and other versions. Data from 294 college students, with parental ratings for 94 students, support the reliability and validity of the measure. (SLD)

DiLalla, David L. – Assessment, 1996
A computer-administered (CA) form of the Multidimensional Personality Questionnaire (MPQ) (A. Tellegen, 1982) was created, and scores of 126 college students were compared to those of 101 who took a paper-and-pencil MPQ. Multivariate analyses found no group differences for the CA format, and likelihood of profile validity was decreased. Results…

Lubin, Bernard; Van Whitlock, Rod – Assessment, 1996
The reliability and validity of the positive and negative mood scales of the trait version of the State Trait--Depression Adjective Check Lists (D. Watson and others, 1988) were supported with 269 college students, 197 adolescents, and 165 older adults. Results provide evidence of the equivalence of the positive and negative scales. (SLD)

Piedmont, Ralph L. – Assessment, 1994
Reliability and construct validity of observer ratings on the Revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO PI-R) were evaluated in a sample of 101 college students and the observations of 2 people who knew each student. Results document the strong internal consistency of each scale and a factor structure replicating previous findings. (SLD)

Gallen, Robert T.; Berry, David T. R. – Assessment, 1997
A study with 804 undergraduates finds that Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-2 protocols that contain random responding with an onset after item 370 can be distinguished from protocols with an earlier onset of random responding. Results suggest that protocols with late random responding may be interpretable in terms of basic clinical and…

Greve, Kevin W.; And Others – Assessment, 1995
Interset and set-to-total correlations for the California Card Sorting Test were studied for 135 college students and 63 elementary school students. Although subsets were not equivalent, the generally good correlations between subset and total test scores indicated that use of the individual subsets as short forms is justified. (SLD)
