Kelsey Elizabeth Borchers DerGurahian
ProQuest LLC, Ed.D. Dissertation, Regent University
The purpose of this study was to focus on the content, delivery methods, and practices that impact program quality within an educational leadership preparation program in the eastern part of the United States. The sample of this study was composed of four participants: one current student, one graduate, one faculty member, and one administrator of an educational leadership preparation program in the eastern part of the United States. Upon completion of a pilot study, an expert review, and approval from a focus group, the study began. First, artifacts were reviewed before the interviews took place. Each artifact was reviewed in terms of content, delivery methods, and practices. The artifacts for program quality included in this study follow: State Department of Education Program, regional accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, and national accreditation from two accreditors, Teacher Education Accreditation Council and the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. Next, an interview was conducted with each participant individually with the researcher asking the participant semistructured interview questions and having the participant self-reflect and share their experience within the educational leadership preparation program in relation to their role within the program. Several steps were taken to analyze the data, including utilizing the computer-assisted data analysis program ATLAS.ti 9.
