The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors that influence adult female learners' dropout in e-learning courses, and to suggest possible solutions to problem of high dropout rates in Korea. To identify the factors, we analyzed the literature and developed a questionnaire consisting of 9 possible factors and 16 items. Data gathered from 1,609 adult female learners were analyzed in a logistic regression model, which was utilized to determine the probability of adult female learner's dropping out of e-learning courses because of any of the identified variables. We studied the following variables: marital status, employment status, computer literacy, experience with e-learning, internal motivation, external motivation, support of educational institute, managing the home and child rearing, and time for learning. The results indicated that five factors were important: marital status, internal motivation, support of educational institute, managing the home and child rearing, and time for learning. That is to say, being single, and having a high level of internal motivation, a high level of satisfaction with institutional support, a low burden of house management and child rearing, and time for learning help improve the rate of completion of e-learning courses among adult women. Among these, internal motivation was the strongest factor.
