Gantt-Howrey, Alexandra; Becnel, Alexander; Shi, Yun; Lau, Jared – Counselor Education and Supervision, 2023
Using quantitative content analysis, we examined the prevalence and use of the Multicultural Social Justice Counseling Competencies (MSJCC) in 21 ACA journals between June 2015 and July 2021. We found that only 7.62% of the articles (n = 2860) referenced the MSJCC. Implications for counselor educators are discussed.

Bobrovitz, Niklas; Noël, Kim; Li, Zihan; Cao, Christian; Deveaux, Gabriel; Selemon, Anabel; Clifton, David A.; Yanes-Lane, Mercedes; Yan, Tingting; Arora, Rahul K. – Research Synthesis Methods, 2023
Risk of bias (RoB) assessments are a core element of evidence synthesis but can be time consuming and subjective. We aimed to develop a decision rule-based algorithm for RoB assessment of seroprevalence studies. We developed the SeroTracker-RoB algorithm. The algorithm derives seven objective and two subjective critical appraisal items from the…

Hadjipanayi, Veronica; Ludwig, Casimir J. H.; Kent, Christopher – Cognitive Research: Principles and Implications, 2023
In many real-life contexts, observers are required to search for targets that are rarely present (e.g. tumours in X-rays; dangerous items in airport security screenings). Despite the rarity of these items, they are of enormous importance for the health and safety of the public, yet they are easily missed during visual search. This is referred to…

Kallitsounaki, Aimilia; Williams, David M. – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 2023
The suggested overlap between autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and gender dysphoria/incongruence (GD/GI) has been much disputed. This review showed a relationship between ASD traits and GD feelings in the general population and a high prevalence of GD/GI in ASD. Our meta-analyses revealed that the pooled estimate of the prevalence of ASD diagnoses…

Figi-Smith, Meredith Brooks – ProQuest LLC, 2023
Accelerated baccalaureate nursing (ABSN) programs educate students faster than traditional nursing (BSN) programs; programs are 12-20 months and demanding. Research established test anxiety exists among BSN students; however, there is limited research on test anxiety in ABSN students. This study sought to identify prevalence of test anxiety among…

Abramo, Giovanni; D'Angelo, Ciriaco Andrea – Research Evaluation, 2023
The paper takes a scientometric approach to measure the change in research productivity of Italian academics before the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. We propose a composite output/input bibliometric indicator and apply it at the field level, conducting a longitudinal analysis. Although the number of academics in the national academic system has…

Christina Rose Buck-Zermane – ProQuest LLC, 2023
The prevalence of autism is on the rise and this population of students is not academically thriving, thus leading to strained resources and more intervention services across the lifespan. The educational problem is that teachers report being ill-equipped to address the diverse academic needs of their students with autism. The purpose of this…

Andreo-Martínez, Pedro; Rubio-Aparicio, María; Sánchez-Meca, Julio; Veas, Alejandro; Martínez-González, Agustín Ernesto – Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 2022
Previous studies have reported dysbiosis in the gut microbiota (GM) of children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), which may be a determining factor on child development through the microbiota-gut-brain axis. However, it is not clear if there is a specific group of dysbiotic bacteria in ASD. The aim of this study was to carry out a…

Underwood, Jack F. G.; DelPozo-Banos, Marcos; Frizzati, Aura; John, Ann; Hall, Jeremy – Autism: The International Journal of Research and Practice, 2022
Estimates place the prevalence of autism spectrum disorders (autism) at around 1% in the population. New services for adult diagnosis have been set up in Wales, UK, at a time of rising awareness of the spectrum of autism experiences; however, no studies have examined adult autism prevalence in Wales. Don, Hilary J.; Worthy, Darrell A. – Journal of Experimental Psychology: Learning, Memory, and Cognition, 2022
Recent work in reinforcement learning has demonstrated a choice preference for an option that has a lower probability of reward (A) when paired with an alternative option that has a higher probability of reward (C), if A has been experienced more frequently than C (the frequency effect). This finding is critical as it is inconsistent with…

Timothy Scott Holcomb – ProQuest LLC, 2022
In this study, the performance of the Lambda Coefficient of Rater-Mediated Agreement was evaluated with other chance-corrected agreement coefficients. Lambda is grounded in rater-mediated assessment theory and was developed as an alternative to Kappa (Cohen, 1960) and other chance-corrected agreement coefficients. Lambda has two variations, a…
