Green, Rebecca – Journal of Documentation, 1995
Presents criteria for an effective syntagmatic relator system and describes how conceptual syntagmatic relationships are expressed in natural language, commenting on the adequacy of such expressions for document retrieval systems. Only one type of expression, a gestalt structure, represented as a frame, conforms to the criteria. (Author/JKP)

Green, C. D. – Journal of Documentation, 1972
Some problems arising in the combination of discipline-oriented retrieval systems for the purpose of constructing a specialized retrieval system for a multidisciplinary topic are considered. A compromise solution involving an augmented combined index is suggested. (4 references) (Author/NH)

Cleverdon, C. W.; Kidd, J. S. – Journal of Documentation, 1976
A test was carried out to investigate the assumption that there is a significant level of redundancy between documents. The paper reports that, with certain reservations, index terms conform in general with the Bradford distribution. (Author)
