Sexton, Thomas R.; And Others – New Directions for Program Evaluation, 1986
Recent methodological advances are described that enable the analyst to extract additional information from the data envelopment analysis (DEA) methodology, including goal programming to develop cross-efficiencies, cluster analysis, analysis of variance, and pooled cross section time-series analysis. Some shortcomings of DEA are discussed. (LMO)

Summers, Mike K.; Willett, John B. – Creative Computing, 1980
The need for traps, a program routine which checks the validity of the user's response to the computer's request for input, in Computer Assisted Learning Packages, is discussed. Several example traps are described. (MK)

Lokken, Harry; Keenan, W. W. – 1970
The purpose of this field test was to determine the feasibility and desirability of implementing a program budgeting and accounting system in Minnesota school districts. Analysis of the proposed system determined that it was feasible for adoption in local education agencies. Modifications were made in the chart of accounts and in the coding…

Department of Education and Science, London (England). – 1970
This study attempted to determine the feasibility of adopting out budgeting, the English term for a management system using planning-programing-budgeting system (PPBS) techniques, for the Department of Education and Science, and the appropriate form of system to be used. The study team concluded that output budgeting would be practicable for all…

Sexton, Thomas R. – New Directions for Program Evaluation, 1986
The methodology of data envelopment analysis, (DEA) a linear programming-based method, is described. Other procedures often used for measuring relative productive efficiency are discussed in relation to DEA, including ratio analysis and multiple regression analysis. The DEA technique is graphically illustrated for only two inputs and one output.…

Borden, George A. – 1971
ARIS is an artificial intelligence system which uses the English language to learn, understand, and communicate. The system attempts to simulate the psychoneurological processes which enable man to communicate verbally. It uses a modified stratificational grammar model and is being programed in PL/1 (a programing language) for an IBM 360/67…

Stifle, Jack – 1971
The PLATO IV computer-based instructional system consists of a large scale centrally located CDC 6400 computer and a large number of remote student terminals. This is a brief and general description of the proposed input/output hardware necessary to interface the student terminals with the computer's central processing unit (CPU) using available…

Hansen, Duncan N.; Dick, Walter – 1969
Misunderstandings on the part of the researcher as to the computer's capability, coupled with the inability of the computer system to function efficiently, has often handicapped the research activities in computer assisted instruction (CAI). A new data system is being developed to resolve these problems. A Delete/Sort program has been designed to…

Stein (Theodore) Co., New York, NY. – 1967
The logic of the system presented in this report is divided into six parts for computer processing and manipulation. They are: (1) processing of Library of Congress copy, (2) editing of input into standard format, (3) processing of information into and out from the authority files, (4) creation of the catalog records, (5) production of the…

Stein (Theodore) Co., New York, NY. – 1967
The logic of the system presented in this report is divided into five parts for computer processing and manipulation. They are: (1) incorporating publication information and Library of Congress catalog copy into the system, (2) processing of authority files and assignment of supplier, (3) preparing data for cataloging and acquisitions, (4)…
