Vawter, Richard – American Journal of Physics, 1979
Describes a new method of evaluating multiple choice examinations by measuring the entropy state of a student's examination above the "thermal background level," and shows that the entropy grade contains standard scoring as a special case. (Author/GA)

Golden, David E.; And Others – American Journal of Physics, 1974
The performance of college students in introductory physics courses has been studied using conventional examination procedures as a measure of content mastery. Retesting over the same physics content using repeatable equivalent examinations results in a significant increase in the students mastery of physics. (Author/GS)
