Evaluated the extent to which the Graduate Record Examinations General Test measures the same constructs for older test takers that it does for younger examinees. Results suggest that the convergent validity of the test is similar across the age groups, but discriminant validity is somewhat different for older examinees. (Author/RWB)

Compared performance of high- and low-education adults on traditional and meaningful space and reasoning measures. Separate analyses of variance for reasoning and space revealed main effects for education and age on both abilities. Reviews developmental literature on cognitive gender differences; and compares past and present trends in gender differences, by age, from standardizations of the Wechsler Intelligence Scales and the California Achievement Tests.
