Smith, R. Spencer – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1983
Compared the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) and the WAIS-Revised (WAIS-R) in a sample of college students (N=70). A highly significant test order interaction was found. The WAIS-R will result in significantly higher ability estimates when administered following the WAIS than the WAIS will when following the WAIS-R. (JAC)

Reeve, Richard Robert; And Others – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1983
Compared the performance of Caucasian kindergartners (N=60) on the Stanford Binet, the Leiter International Performance Scale, and the Metropolitan Achievement Test. Results confirmed that the LIPS measures mental traits similar to the SB, although some scores were different. The LIPS is especially useful with hearing or speech impaired children.…

Bracken, Bruce A.; And Others – School Psychology Review, 1991
Ipsative subtest pattern stability was examined for 60 preschool children (31 males and 29 females) on the Bracken Basic Concept Scale and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children over a 4-6 week test-retest interval. The moderate level of profile stability found warrants cautious use of the ipsative interpretation approach. (SLD)

Feingold, Alan – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1982
Analyzed published data on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) to ascertain whether the Information and Vocabulary subtests can function as measures of intelligence. Concluded that the addition of more WAIS subtests will not result in any increase in predictive validity and these additional tests, therefore, lack incremental validity.…

Smith, Douglas K.; Lyon, Mark A. – 1987
This study compares the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities (MSCA) and the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) profiles of successful and unsuccessful preschoolers with learning disabilities. Subjects, 40 preschool students, were tested at the beginning and at the end of the preschool year and were placed into repeating or…

Goldman, Jeri J. – American Journal of Mental Deficiency, 1987
Scores on the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) were compared with reevaluation scores obtained four years later on the WAIS-Revised for a group of 108 mildly and moderately retarded adults. The moderately retarded subgroups (N=22) demonstrated significantly higher WAIS-R intelligence quotients. Implications for use of the WAIS-R are…
