This publication is a series of 13 original classroom instructional packets and an additional 4 units adapted from National Science Teachers Association units. Each packet is designed to supplement specific existing subject curricula. Units have been designed for physics, chemistry, English, mathematics, general science and studies. Packets contain a teachers' guide and classroom quantities of instructional materials. The materials represent existing resources from a wide spectrum of organizations, insuring adequate balance. Teacher guides are written to cover 4 to 10 class periods, contain specific objectives, and suggested teacher preparation and classroom activities. The units are designed for use with students in grades 1 through 12 and are designed to use a variety of instructional materials and techniques such as films, field trips, simulations, questioning, written exercises, etc. Examples of unit titles are: Getting Started--Is There an Energy Crisis?; Fission, Fusion and Fishin; Energy Education and the Environment; and How a Bill Becomes a Law.
