Predominantly white midwestern high school students (n=561) rated a parent and a teacher on the Barret-Lennard Relationship Inventory (1962, 1978). Eight ambiguous items in the 16-item Inconditionality of Regard Scale of the Barrett-Lennard Relationship Inventory were rewritten to see if the relationship of that scale to others in the inventory would change.
