The evidence indicates that while considerable acculturation has taken place, even the third generation of Japanese Americans still retains certain characteristics of the more traditional Japanese family system. (Author)

Data gathered from interviews with 130 third generation Japanese American college students indicates that not only has there been an increase in school activity but that the grade point average has declined to the point where it is now only average. (Author/AM)
