Examined the feasibility of an abbreviated Job Club program for 23 Job Service clients. Results showed a 50 percent placement rate, which compared favorably with the agency rate, but was lower than the traditional Job Club success rate. Gray, Dennis – Journal of Gerontology, 1983
Details a longitudinal field experiment on the effectiveness of a behavioral/self-help job-finding program--the job club. Employment service clients (N=46) received job club program or normally available (control) services. Follow-up data revealed a 74 percent employment rate for job club participants versus 22 percent for controls. (Author/JAC)
