ProQuest LLC, D.I.T. Dissertation, Capella University
This qualitative case study identified whether corporate managers can implement mobile technology as an employee-training tool. Little research exists regarding mobile technology bused as a training tool for employees in corporations. The lack of research led to exploratory research questions to examine how mobile technology is used as an employee-training tool. The research questions that guided this study were as follows: (1) What are the perspectives that corporate training managers have regarding the adoption of mobile technology for employee training and education?; and (2) How can the use of mobile technologies be adopted toward improved employee corporate training and education? The qualitative case study methodology assisted in answering these research questions using a purposive sampling method. The purposive sampling method used to study the target population comprised of 10 corporate training managers actively engaged in the training of employees from information technology companies in the Western region. The target population had a corporate background, at least an associate degree, and experience working with mobile technology and employee training. The data gathered from this study was analyzed using NVivo 12 software aiding in the qualitative data analysis. The data analysis completed during this case study added to the limited research related to mobile technology adoption by a corporation to train employees.
