Learning for Roaming
Clark, Alastair
Adults Learning, v19 n6 p18-21 Feb 2008
In the October 2007 issue of "Adults Learning," Paul Stanistreet wrote an article which celebrated the successes of the countryside access movement of the twentieth century. He highlighted how, while some of the legal barriers to access have been reduced, not all citizens are able to take advantage of the rights that were won by an earlier generation. This article offers a reflection on the importance of countryside access in the author's personal and professional life. It considers some of the challenges ahead and the role that adult learning could play in opening up the countryside to all citizens.
